FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

It is a term used to describe your food safety policies and procedures. It is a legal requirement for food businesses to have a documented food safety management system in place, based on the HACCP principles.

FOOD SAFETY AUDITS

Audits are a vital part of the compliance process and provide an independent overview of your current practices and standards to identify if you are complying with current legislation and good practice advice.

After each audit you will be provided with a detailed audit report  highlighting areas of non-compliance and solutions of how to put right any issues identified in the audit to ensure you demonstrate due diligence, reduce the risk of enforcement and help you achieve a high Food Hygiene Rating.

FOOD POISONING INVESTIGATIONS

A2Z food safety can assist you in the management of any food poisoning allegations. We contact the customer, discuss their experience and gather information, including details of your food preparation method and records that have been maintained. 

Our findings are reported back to in a detailed report. Where applicable we will help you liaise with customers and enforcement authorities.

LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE IN FOOD SAFETY AWARENESS

The Certificate in Food Hygiene Awareness is a basic qualification appropriate for anybody wishing to have an awareness of food hygiene. It has also been designed to help the food and catering industries to provide training to a safe level for those who perform "low risk" tasks such as clearing tables, maintaining stores, "meals on wheels" and other such similar duties. This award is also relevant to employees working in food factories but not in "high risk" sections of the plant.

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN FOOD SAFETY FOR CATERERS
LEVEL 2 AWARD IN FOOD SAFETY FOR CATERERS

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering is targeted at food handlers in catering. A food handler is any person, in any type of food business, who handles food. The food can be open or packaged and includes drinks and ice.

The aim of the course is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic food safety practices that is essential in the catering industry. This includes the hazards and risks to food safety presented by food operations and personnel together with cost-effective, practical control measures.

This award is designed for those who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering however is also ideally suited to people who need to enter food premises as part of their work, e.g. Equipment maintenance engineers; off-site business owners/managers and delivery personnel. The aim of this qualification is to provide a basic understanding of food hygiene.

The award is usually delivered over one day and is evaluated by multiple choice examination.

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISION
LEVEL 3 AWARD IN FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISION FOR CATERING

The Level 3 award is designed principally for those who are, or intend to be, supervisors of food handlers within the catering and hospitality industry. Holders will gain a broad knowledge of food safety and food hygiene, enabling them to identify problem areas and make recommendations.

Holders of this qualification will have the appropriate knowledge and understanding to be able to take responsibility for food safety monitoring procedures, to identify hazards to food safety, take appropriate action in the light of these hazards and contribute to improvements in food safety practice.

This award is an ideal link between the “Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering” qualification and the more advanced “Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering”.

This course is usually delivered over two days, and assessment is by a multiple-choice questions.
